9mm? Not really from what I hear. Though rather controllable on the recoil however. |

#1052008 -- 9mm can be defeated by something as nominal as Type IIA body armor, which can also defeat .40S&W and .45ACP cartridges. The only "over-penetration" with 9mm FMJ shells is their tendency to "over-penetrate" non-armored targets (and even then, ones without thick clothing), and more importantly, houses.
FMJ is also not designed to penetrate -- it does the exact opposite, which is to expand on impact (thereby minimizing penetration), and transferring all energy to the target. Again, even thick clothing tends to prematurely cause them to mushroom. MP5's are intended to be used in close-quarters (room to room) combat -- the only time you usually hear about over-penetration is in the context of police departments [legitimately] worrying about an errant shot going through the thin drywall of 3-4 houses and a cat. All in all, the picture is badass. Although poor Rainbow Dash is going to have to figure out how to adapt a trigger to her hooves. ;_; |

^ I just love all these armchair weapon experts around here. "Rock hard hollowpoints"
Hollow point rounds are designed to expand on impact, the round mushrooms out at the tip. If any round over penetrates it's NOT a hollow point. FMJ or "Full Metal Jacket" NOT designed to expand, the whole point of the metal jacket is to hold the bullet shape. It is prone to over penetration on soft targets, but from a 9mm it doesn't have the mass or the muzzle velocity to punch through hard targets. |

like hollow point rounmds can pierce armor not 9mm rounds |
