I don't know who came up with the name "Prince Artemis" but I really don't like that name
Artemis was a girl first of all, and the same people who use the name never even use Apollo as Celestia's name If you're gonna call Celestia Solaris, why call Luna Artemis? I know there weren't many male moon gods but we randomly came up with Solaris, I'm sure we could come up a name for male Luna too |
| Anonycat #1048117 4 months ago |
Because it's a Sailor Moon reference. |

Yes I use a Sailor Moon reference for the name Artemis. @ KRODERSERK I don't think my male Luna fails as you said. :| |

"Now neither of us will be virgins!"
Sorry, had to get that out of the way. And yeah, Artemis is a girl's name. FUN FACT: Sin was the Mesopotamian GOD (male) of the moon. DOUBLE FUN FACT: Thoth. Y'know, the Egyptian God of Magic and the Moon. |

Lunaris? |

Thoth is a good name. Just Egyptian up his helmet a little and it would work really well. |
| Velcro #1048838 4 months ago |
I'm in desperate need of a good rule63-Luna name myself. |
| Anonymous #1048880 4 months ago |
Thoth, and if you want to "ponify" it, it could be "Troth," making it a pun on "trot" as well as Indoor Royal Canterlot for "truth."
Alternatively, Mani, was the Norse god of the Moon (being chased by wolves), so, a combination? Thoth-Mani? And it'd give him a "mystical" feel. |

Artemis the goddess was female. Artemis the name has been used for both males and females since forever. |

Guys for the last time: I USE A SAILOR MOON REFERENCE. Im not going to change his name is too late for that. |

Sorry that people are too set on debating names than admiring your awesome pic. |
| JaquelinAmyRose #1051187 4 months ago |
@ Imdumb
I know a lot of people are not satisfied with the name Artemis but I got a reason why I choose it. And Im saying: I use a Sailor Moon reference. I mean in the anime there was a white male cat named Artemis. That means that the name can be used for male. Besides Actually Artemis sounds male to me. If you change Artemis for " Artemisa " in Spanish it sounds female. |
| Psychopomf #1051191 4 months ago |
...This is a very nice male Luna |
| Anonymous #1085015 4 months ago |
why "artemis"? because Connor Cogsworth used "apollo" for rule sixty-three nightmare
also...it shortens to "arty" personally, i saw arty as moon grey instead of an exact copy of Luna |
| JaquelinAmyRose #1130269 4 months ago |
@ Anonymous
Apollo was god of light and the sun in the Greek Mythology. Which...it really doesn't make sense with Genderswapped Nightmare Moon and Luna. ^^; ^ Please read the description I give to @ Imdumb |

Uh, Sailor Moon was a manga from the 80's. prehaps if you had done some actual resaerch on the real goddess, you would not have this problem |
