You know, humans are very, very complex creatures. We can be totally okay with something someone else would find highly immoral and digusting, yet the vice versa still holds true. I figure that love is love, no matter what sexuality you are/have, but I have a tough time stomaching things like incest. Of course, perhaps my example is more akin to a double standard.
But I think the point of this image is either to troll/"blackmail" Jackarunda, cause a flamewar, or adding onto the pile of work the mods have to do in order to delete yet another pony-unrelated image. |

Time for a biology and zoology lesson. That are many animal species who not only show homosexual traits but show them at a frequency and % equivalent to that of humans. These traits tend to manifest themselves in species who either live in tight groups, have high breeding rates, or require large areas of land to proliferate. This has led many (including myself) to conclude it is a form of natural population control. Thus, making it a perfectly natural occurrence.

@Fubarman actually, a bit of inbreeding can hav positive effects. It leads to populations becoming more distinct, leading to a greater overall diversity. There's a reason the evolved mechanisms to reduce incest aren't exactly great at what they do.
Incest won't cause too many problems when people aren't forcing it on multiple generations, it's not like it's likely to happen over the long-term in a family. Naturally, stupid monarchies loved to keep it in the family too often. |

I'm okay with gays but I don't really like gay shippings, but that's just me. After being in this fandom for as long as I have, I can see where Jack is coming from. To me, it gets annoying and sometimes even aggravating to see nothing but gay shippings and having most straight shippings get shunned. But Incest is another thing, I don't like it but I'm not going to be an asshole to people who do, same as shippings. And if you think I'm not being "Open Minded", then you are completely wrong, you have no idea how open minded I can be and from what I've been through in my life, you would be open minded to believe what I am saying. I don't like many gay shippings for a couple of reasons, they're sometimes if not usually forced and if someone tries to speak their mind about it they get flamed for no good reason, they make little to no sense and go way too OOC, and usually shippings like those are the shippings were someone takes two random characters who have NO relation or even know of the others existence, and decides "Hey, what would happen if these two were lovers?" (Like OctaScratch, don't even start with me about that) because just because you might think it's a good idea and a couple of others, there is NO reason to be hated for not liking or agreeing with a ship. Well, I've been calling him out on the bigotry and hypocrisy for a while now, lol. Though that was only after he took to calling me an asshole for no particular reason (I assume it was because I actively support a few F/F MLP pairings, but honestly I'm not really interested in his rationale). Before he started that up, I was perfectly happy to ignore him. After all, the only people who hold such views worth paying much attention to are those with the influence necessary to stagnate society along with them; and a bigot on the internet isn't nearly that important.
Even so, as satisfying as I could find this Jackarunda hatefest (and I have to admit, I'm not above enjoying it just a tad, lol) and am of the opinion it was probably a long-time coming, he's still entitled to his opinions, however wrong or illogical. While I'd love it if everyone would accept the validity and right of same-sex relationships and marriage to exist (it's not as if it infringes on anybody else's right to live their lives as they see fit), it's a bit unreasonable to expect that so early in history. Hell, there are still people in this world against interracial marriage; and in some regions not all that long ago, it was an issue scarcely different from the debate over same-sex marriage today. However, I've never understood those who compare it to something like incest, bestiality, or child/adult marriage... all three of which I've seen used for basically the same "argument" against same-sex marriage. There's a serious disconnect going on in all of those comparisons; particularly with the latter two. |

I think the whole "Jackarunda is an ignorant homohobe" thing has been made pretty clear throughout the thread, but the whole "Anons post butts" thing is now a new issue and, well, no real place to address it besides here, I guess. My first reaction was "limit the amount of in-comment images that can be posted per (amount of time goes here)", but that would negatively impact the dance threads as well as some people who I don't think are doing us any harm with their image spamming, Some_Anon being my primary example here. The "Anon should lose image posting privileges" sounds like a good idea at first blush, but signing up for an account of username 289725678435 is easy, and while it might deter a run-of-the-mill spammer, the kind of imbecilic dedication and IP evasion going on here indicates that that certainly would have had no effect on this particular troll, and this particular breed of troll is what's the issue. My two bits. |

Enuff reports that it's unsafe, and it will be put in a "clikk to show" type thing. For extra safety, hav an account option to put all comment images in the clikk to show by default. |

Sure most trolls would be taken care of, but for those hardcore trolls taking the time to change ips and everything, requiring an account to post images would have little effect.
