We weren't specifically promised they'd return. We were told we'd see returning characters. Also, it's a two parter. Who knows? |

Oh my God, perfect idea.
An artifact causes the Elements to switch owners, thus being passed on to all of the antagonists- Trixie, Flim and Flam, Gilda, Blueblood, Hoity Toity (he seemed like a bit of a dick). Just in time for a new threat to arise, probably some horrible Death alicorn that has a tasteful hat and tie. The two-parter consists of the Mane 6 getting the new (temporary) bearers to befriend each other so that they can utilize the Elements of Harmony to beat the Big Bad, and of course redeeming all of the "bad guys". The moral? Never judge a book by its cover, because anypony can be a hero. ALL MY BOTTLECAPS |

Or perhaps the help of the antagonists comes entirely unexpected, and only because they realize they're facing a greater threat. Then again, a villain might just as easily recruit them over their resentment towards the protagonists. |

^Dude, Hoity Toity was a BAWS. I don't know what show you're watching, but I don't think it's FiM.
There was never any confirmation on Trixie's or Gilda's return. In fact, I think I remember hearing something that made things lean more toward the opposite direction. |

I prefer Diamond Dogs to Blueblood when it comes to this, because I honestly believe that they've come to respect her to the point that they'd zerg rush anyone trying to hurt her.
Imagine that, just Diamond Dogs bursting out of the ground, howling and growling and bearing their teeth. Sick. |
