I think that out of the Mane 6, Rarity has gotten the most character development. I'm not going to lie, I hated her the first time I saw her. She instantly screamed "fucking shallow elitist bitch".
Well, imagine my surprise when she is thoroughly fleshed-out as a deep, meaningful character. She's fiercely independent, charitable, and handles her own problems. Of the Mane 6, she is the only one who consistently solves her own dilemmas. She helps others selflessly and handles herself without ever really needing that much help in return. |

You're conflating two very different things.
'Fashion' is utter shit, and pathetic thing to be passionate about -- fuck trends, fuck what's 'in', fuck that weak-minded herd nonsense. Beauty is valuable and powerful, and Rarity has earned our respect as an artist. |
