That's nice and all, but you should judge the characters based on their own merits, not what parallels with other characters you can draw. Not saying you can't point to a character and say "Oh, she reminds me a bit of this character from something else," but the creators put a lot of heart into making unique and memorable characters, not carbon copies of a bygone age. |

@Dale Sorry Dale, but most of you bronies on this website just seem to be going down that road already. Which is why i may just stick to sonic and stop being a brony once and for all. The fanbase for sonic seems to a lot less chaotic and hardly any shitstorms happen nowadays. @Anon4 Who the fuck is Firefly? And just what the hell do you mean coincidence?! There are a shit ton of similarities between Sonic and RD. I mean, just think about it for a minute, Sonic boom? Sonic Rain Boom? Way Past Cool? 20% Cooler? And let's not forget that RD sleeps in trees just like sonic did in Sonic X. She's got the same personality and most of her theme music in the show is rock. Just as sonic does with Crush 40. There HAD to be some sort of inspiration from SEGA's mascot. One of Hasbro's developers must have been a major sonic fan. (And before any one calls me retarded sonic fag, let me just remind you that I was only suspicious about this) |

@SRD639 Original the Character Donut Steel was invented to describe horrible Sonic recolors. That's really impressive with furries hanging out around the corner. So yeah, sorry for your butthurt, but as cool as the Genesis games were, Sonic fandom on the internet is the measuring stick for painful and awkward fandom. Which, again, is a really impressive achievement on an internet filled with furries and Harry Potter fangirls.

^To be fair, thanks to the latest two games, the fandom has largely calmed down.
But still, why would somebody stop being part of a fandom? Every goddamn thing has its loonies, ranging from Sonic The Hedgehog over MLP to all sorts of collectibles. It´s unavoidable. Just relax and enjoy. |

I enjoyed sonic when I was a kid but then I grew up and found something more fun that didn't frustrate me. Plus I'm pretty sure even shit g1 ponies we're way before sonic so srd your opinion is kinda invalid sorry.
Cause as an anime fan and observer of the community I gotta say I really dislike the anime community as a whole vs the brony/pegasisters even on the internet. They're just a hell lot more friendlier imo, even had a meet up with people I've never talked to before and I gotta say I had fun from people I've never met before. |

Alright, I'll give you that :/ But MLP is spreading all over the internet that it's unavoidable like you said about with the freaks of both fanbases. That's the one thing i DON'T like about this fandom. Neither the MLP or the Sonic fanbase is perfect. There always will be a flaw in them. @Dale Chris-Chan was also a brony before FiM came out you know. |

And I usually don´t care about things that will happen so or so, but thats just me. ;D The thing that bothers me a bit is, that this fandom practically STARTED on the internet, so I think the premise that, say, both aformentioned fandoms go down the same, shitty way, is flawed. |
