I imagine the Equastria sun is not the natural sun. But a smaller one that Celestia controls (given that Rarity flew close enough to it to burn those wings she had at the time).
Their land is all kinds of screwed up from when Discord controlled it, thus they have to have total control over its ecosystem, including using a false sun. Oh gods, its super sci-fi, Celestia and Luna are ancient bio-androids tasked with maintaining the biosphere. |
