Reminds me of a fable, I dunno if it used eggs or seeds. A prince gave seeds to suitors to see who would grow the most beautiful flower from it. Several weeks later, all the young women had brought a lovely flower, all except for a very unhappy girl holding a pot with barren soil. "My dear, why didn't you bring a flower like the others?" Weeeell, it probably depends heavily on aptitude. Twi was very gifted, and managed to open a dragon's egg with a bit of prodding, just as she got her cutie mark. Snips (unless it was Snails, but I think Snips) can just barely produce light with significant effort, despite already having his. |
