Maybe she just hasn't been found yet? Can't see the Apple family not giving her a proper funeral. And can you imagine how many people would attend? All her friends, all the relatives who there in the first episode PLUS a chunk that weren't. Ponies like Braeburn who couldn't make it then but wouldn't feel right about not comming to pay their respects. |

It is the Earth pony way.
Upon finding their fallen they have very simple affairs where the deceased is given their rites and placed within a dirt grave. Seeds of flowers or other plants are placed over them, the belief that they shall soon become a part of Nature that Earth ponies treasure dearest. |
