The script shows 10 history entries (configurable). The 'set' button copies the entry into the tag box.

Script: http://www.jspenguin.org/monkey/pb_tag_history_main.user.js
GreaseMonkey: http://www.greasespot.net
Mozilla Addon page: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/748/

Oh, I guess it makes it just easier to see from the image page, and people don't have to load another page then.

I've fought these things for hours this morning. Somepony else pick up the torch. Search for "buy", "a,", "b,", "c,", "d,", "e,", "f,", "g,", "discount", "vogue", and a bunch of other shit. Also the "<a" faggot is still around.

Someone fucking kick Eco out of bed RD/Fluttershy style.

We won't win this unless Eco/mods help us. We can clear the tags, but the spam is still in the tag history, visible to Google and everything. The entire database must be cleaned, but we can't do that.

@Anon631

I set up a shimmie server for testing. Cutting off spam literally takes 6 clicks for an admin: My Account -> Board Config -> Uncheck "Allow anonymous tag editing", Uncheck " Allow anonymous source editing", Save settings.

Check http://www.ponibooru.org/tag_history. *ALL* of the anonymous tag edits are spam.

Does anyone have a list of mods we can PM?

jspenguin: you're saying there IS a way to stop anons from editing the tags?! I was going to suggest that earlier tonight, but I thought shimmie didn't have that functionality.

PM Eco immediately. He runs this place.

AFAIK eco doesnt want to disallow anon editing because "anons are people too" and some other liberal BS

anons ruin things. if anons want to upload, if anons want to edit, anons need to create an account. It should've been that way to begin with.

^ We don't have to permanently remove anon rights. Remove them until the spam attacks end, then re-enable them.

Can't it be made that links cannot be posted in the tags list? Like in the comments box where it detecs what you say and eventually prevent you from posting certain things at all.

Source should be editable by someone who has an account though. If an anon finds a source, he can post it in the comments.
Would it be useful for bots to post links in the comments actually? If thats so, anons shouldn't be able to comment then either.

Hi.

Spam tag edits (detected based on some simple heuristics) are disabled as of ~15 minutes ago. I'm using SQL now to fix all the images that were hit.

Sorry for the mess.

Might want to add recaptcha to re-tagging/comments anyway even with that. The more annoying it becomes to spam the less likely they'll try.

While we're at it, think we could have uploads fail if the only tag entered is tagme? Send the person to a giant flashing "TAG YOUR UPLOADS" page complete with the vuvuzela sound embedded.

I really hope those spam tags get purged from the database for good. They look really depressing :-(

@jspenguin: As far as restoring the old sources, I'll see what I can do. May have to scrape the logs to get at that data.

As far as blocking source-field spam... well, it's much harder to programmatically detect, since they're still URLs. But for what it's worth, most of these spambots seem greedy (they'll hit the tag box AND the source) and if you have spammy tags, source changes won't take effect either.

Yeah captcha is in the plan at this point. I just don't have time to do it until the weekend.

Also; what about that idiot from a few months ago that put alot of aLtErNaTiNg CaPs on alot of one-shor characters, but mostly "ePiSoDe_NN"s and episode titles; can that be fixed?

I saw that (possibly same)anon uploaded an image with a "prediction list of episode release dates", that showed it is going to go onto at least episode 50.

@Eco
While you're at fixing things, I made some changes to the tag_history extension to insert a history entry when an image is first uploaded. It probably won't fix the revert problem (the copy of shimmie I downloaded uses adodb, and it looks like you use PDO). PM me if you're interested.
