@D715 - One of the Producers said it's not a reboot but an "evolution", whatever the fuck that means. Like some kind of "half reboot" where some of the established characters are used (I guess the 3 robots alive at the end of the third film) and a bunch of new merchandise, I mean robots, are brought in. Of course, his next sentence was "We haven't even begun work on the story yet." Clearly they've got this all figured out. |

According to Lauren Faust, the financial success of the first Transformers movie in 2007 was what prompted Hasbro to reboot the MLP franchise, ultimately leading to MLP:FiM.
