Egad. It's fun to theorize about how the Equestian world works but this is crazy. |

lol, the senate can veto any bill and can gain a majority since they're appointed by celestia. I can see celestia being able to troll with this setup. Nothing gets passed without celestias approval |

I don't think Kids will ever understand this. Heck even I get dizzy trying to comprehend this. |

Too American (warning: extreme nerdosity ahead.)
I RP a nation called "Magical Equestria" on the webgame NationStates, where you have to design a government for your nation and engage in diplomacy with other player's nations. My notion of how Equestrian government works is pattered after Elizabethan England. The way I figure it, the Equestrian government has a lower house of elected Earth Pony MPs, and an upper house of hereditary Unicorn lords. The Pegasus ponies are the bulk of the Equestrian military, and they answer directly to Princess Celestia as Monarch. Celestia's still a despot, but she leaves the day-to-day running of the government up to her cabinet, only intervening when she thinks they're getting out of line. |

In monarchist Equestria, it's one pony, one vote.
That pony is Celestia. |

NO it's just Luna and Celestia... |

I've spent years drafting a tricameral legislative constitutional monarchy with a joint head of state, so I follow this. The only thing I would add is to give someone the power to reject the appointment of a Senator. Really cool though. |

@ 1010900
Perhaps as with human politicians her talent is not in governance but in getting (re)elected. |
