I don't know... Big Mac seems mighty overpowered... Are you sure he can take down Discord?

Also, how is Discord weaker than an Ursa Major?

I was actually thinking on the colours (though not so much the effects) for several Ponies as Magic cards.

Here's what I came up with:

Pinkie - Red/White
Twilight - Blue/White
Fluttershy - White/Green
Applejack - Green/White
Rarity - Black/White
Rainbow - Red/Black/White
Nightmare Moon - Black
Princess Luna - Black/White
Princess Celestia - White/Red
Big Mac - Green
Discord - Red/Black

My idea for a Pony-based Magic Block, by the by, ends with a set called "Mirrodin Restored." Which happens a while after Luna reveals that Phyrexia was the initial cause of Nightmare Moon.

celestia's -2 ability is too powerful. and the -10 ability doesn't make much sense compared to the other two. the other two affect creatures(and planeswalkers) switching it to a draw card doesnt make sense. maybe make it like Karn and return all exiled cards to your side of the field and you gain life for every card returned this way?
also i think twilight should be a planeswalker too. (just shooting off ideas here) +2 exile top two cards of library face down. you may cast these cards at any time without paying their mana cost as long as Twilight Sparkle is on the battlefield under your control. -3 look at top three cards in target players library. you may put them in any order on the top or bottom of target players library. -7 Gain emblem saying "Whenever an opponent casts a spell, copy it." She starts at 3.

Big Mac is stupidly OP, because of all the ways that creatures can be played without casting them. With the right hand, you could probably do a first-turn Big Mac Attack...

Bog Hydra is too weak. Maybe if the ability was "a +1/+1 counter is removed *instead*"...

Hoity Toity is a creature, but doesn't have power and toughness! You noob.

Mayor Mare is game-changingly, blasphemously OP, especially if it's in a B/W deck with plenty of life-gain.

Parasprite is dumbfuck underpowered. Make that one into "When Parasprite does combat damage to a player, create a 1/3 token named Parasprite under your control. This token has the same abilities as the original Parasprite card."

i love discord though he is incredibly cheap for an 8/8 fuck the game up card. bump up the cost just a smidgen

Big Mac is the result of me saying to myself "Well, I need to make him as powerful and expensive as whatever exists with a name starting in Big," then sticking with that, so be glad he's not 99/99 and taking up two cards. With the right cards you can get a 20/20 on turn one with the real cards.

I don't see Discord as physically powerful, just chaotic. Always remember Sisko punching him in the face. I wanted the Ursa Major to be huge.

Heartsrtings yes. You get your Lyra too!

I tried to stick real close to Nichol Bolas when making Celestia while keeping it thematic. 8 is a lot to pay for two Oblivion Rings, and she had to have that ability. If I remember my thoughts I figured what she did to Spike in tRoHp2 was her ultimate.

i think spike should be bumped up to be more like Rith, treva, darrigaaz, and all those other legendary dragons. limited fire breathing is boring.

Ugh... I missed a P/T? I am nub indeed.

Mayor Mare is a direct shout-out.

Discord is cheep because he's to uncontrollable. For a little chaos you can get a 7/7 for 4 converted, why not here?

Snips and Snails + Big Mac = the game is now a coin toss.

Or not a coin toss if you can redirect damage.

i just feel that a planeswalker should stick to what they are doing. her first two abilities make a lot of sense theme wise, i just wished that the last stuck with the theme they were going with(effecting creatures) although i am glad you didn't go nissa on us.

Also, Phil: There are a lot of unbalanced cards in the actual game. Inmates, asylum, etc. So when we mention balance concerns, don't point to what's actually in print.

(so glad I sold my cards nearly a decade ago)
PhilSrobeighn

Um, no, 979. I will reference actual cards. I'm making Magic: the Gathering cards, so I want the cards to feel like Magic cards. If, as you said, imbalance is part of the game and you dislike that, then my success would result in your dislike of these cards.

Except Trixie. Trixie is supposed to be worse than her demands imply.

Noodle, I get what you're saying, but I think many PeeDubs have an odd ability out. Like our most recent entry to the type and his ultimate compared to the synergy of his first two abilities.

I want to see 931's scenario played out in-universe.

"Big Macintosh! You gotta help us!"

"Yeah, like, we need you to kill that [antagonist]"

"...eenope."

*buck, yet manages to buck them into the [antagonist] for massive damage*

I like your Twilight, except I'd flip the first two abilities. Free stuff is very powerful (at least, that's what all the 21/21 Tramplemac neighsayers are warning me). And yes, nopony likes Nissa. Not even Nissa's Chosen.

Filthy Rich - broken as hell, and undercosted to boot!

Thundermare, but no Nightmare? (Perhaps the Shadowbolts?)
Cloudwalking Spell is off-color (reach is mostly green)
Everfree Cockatrices are strictly worse than Dominarian ones.
Is Touch of Discord's effect permanent? If it is, wouldn't it fit better as an enchantment?

So many problems, but I do admire the effort put into this. I'd totally run Celestia and Philomena.

Shouldn't some of these creatures (Zecora, the mane 6's pets, Cheerilee) be legendary? Also, isn't the Lord creature type gone?
PhilSrobeighn

@5688 I need a better wording on Filthy, he's really not supposed to be that great.
@6075 Nightmare Moon is my Nightmare. And yes, I gotta fix ToD, it wasn't supposed to be permanent.
@2560 Mane 6 pets are not legends because they are trained animals with abilities that reflect their owner's personalities, not their own. Cheerilee is often recolored and is not a main character. Zecora has three creature types and I didn't want it to be squished.

Checklist looks interesting, but I don't see it being useful in any format that allows spells like Ponder or Preordain. I'm not that good at Magic, but for some reason, Instant speed doesn't seem to justify the extra cost tacked onto it, especially when the two spells I mentioned have additional uses that Checklist doesn't, and since there are a few Instant spells costing U which do something and have draw 1 as a cantrip.

Filthy Rich is a huge, broken mana battery as written. The best way to reword it I can think of that doesn't make it unnecessarily wordy would be to have his ability trigger at the end of each phase. You could do something that interacts with itself when another copy of the ability is on the stack, but I'm a bit too tired to think of something which works that way that's concise enough to appease my tastes.

Bloomberg should have a color indicator, not the rules text setting its color.

Elements of Harmony should probably be reworded so it can't trigger itself.

There are a lot of problems in this. Rarity problems (not Rarity herself, although her card is odd I admit), wording problems, color problems. The only thing you don't do too badly on is flavor. Plus, Time Spiral much? A creature land, graft, untap symbol, transforming cards, Gotcha, Split-Second... Are you trying to throw every mechanic into this? Plus you created your own, which is a pretty strange ability itself that only allows you to change your creature type. It may sound interesting, but it honestly barely does anything.

I did find it entertaining to see a few reprints into this though. I'll point out a few of the strange cards now:

Diamond Dogs are artificers that have NOTHING to do with artifacts?

Applejack's Honesty makes your opponent sacrifice creatures... How is that honest?

Everfree Timberwolf can't do anything if you ever want to use green mana. Spending mana on a spell or ability makes that mana "empty from your mana pool."

Chancellor Puddinghead's ability is almost more than likely to be sacrificed when you cast it, because the first ability affects you, the caster, and there is most likely another player with a horse on the battlefield in this kind of set. It makes her practically redundant. It's like an extremely overcosted 'Wrath of God' black creature!

@7594 (aka: me again). My bad. Chancellor Puddinghead wouldn't be sacrificed, because it's still being cast when the ability goes off, therefore doesn't hit the battlefield yet.

Why is Rainbow Dash's card blue? That is so wrong, it hurts. Every time I look at her card and see that it isn't red or red/white, it causes me PHYSICAL PAIN.

For that matter, Twilight REALLY needs to be blue/white.

@1068019: No, Bloomberg IS correctly worded. (OP, yes, but correctly worded.) The color indicator is only used on two-faced cards.

Look at Dryad Arbor for comparison: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=136196

@1192699: The card has Oracle errata to include a color indicator now. If it were reprinted today, it would have a color indicator. Same with the Pact cards from Future Sight.
