So what does that make Candence?
Ugly step-sister? |

Except Mr and Mrs. Cake |

I completely agree with the statement presented in this post |

Twilight treats her like a mother the most.
Everypony else seems to treat her somewhere between Kim Il sung and Josef Stalin. |
| Anonymous #1007059 5 months ago |
You kidding? Everyone treats her like some crazy dictator with a hair-trigger temper, even Twilight.
Which is really sad, considering she has never shown a hint of malice, if anything she is the complete opposite. |
| PowerToole #1007064 5 months ago |
So? Most bronies are adults with jobs and responsibilities and we still act like kids.
Wait... could that be the reason why we like the show? |
| Cyanfunk #1007075 5 months ago |
Twilight: Oh no, the princess is coming! Quick, Spike, help me clean my room and get the homework ready!
Other ponies: Oh shit, Comrade Celestia is coming! Quick, hide the democracy pamphlets or it's the moon gulag for everypony! |
| Anonymouz #1007080 5 months ago |
@1007059
Except Spike. See Lesson Zero. I think ponies mostly fear her because of how she banished Nightmare Moon. |
| PowerToole #1007103 5 months ago |
Celestia is much more relaxed than Twilight thinks and all the other ponies seem to realize that. Nopony is as analy retentive as Twilight Sparkle.
They didn't even care about the name of the princess not fitting in the banner, but Twilight still made them take it down and start over. |
| Fanloser #1007108 5 months ago |
@#1007080 Yeah, which could make the other ponies see her more like a powerful, "god-like" figure. |
| Anonymous #1007112 5 months ago |
@7059
And yet, remember that Twilight Sparkle also imagined that Celestia would be totally helpless before and instantly defeated by the Parasprites. |

That was more her trying to justify her behavior with a worst-case scenario. |
| Cerulean #1007394 5 months ago |
Early on, I sometimes entertained the idea that there could be an even larger, more realistic horse-being to which Celestia is as a child, and so on, ponies all the way up. "WHAT DID YOU LEARN THIS CENTURY ABOUT FRIENDSHIP, LITTLE ONE? ARE YOU TAKING GOOD CARE OF THE WORLD I GAVE YOU FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY?" |
| Anonymous #1007415 5 months ago |
Ponies don't treat Celestia like a hair trigger dictator. They treat her like a goddess that they would rather die then disappoint.
Celestia just wants to be bros with everypony. |
| Anonymous #1008501 5 months ago |
it isn't so much that Twilight Fears Celestia in the context of worrying that she'd really do anything extreme; their relationship is such that what she really fears is losing favor with the Princess. Hence why she's so retentive and Lesson Zero, although my Head-cannon is that she was still somewhat traumatized from dealing with Discord. |

I think of Equestria as having the Elements of Harmony written in to its physical law (by Celestia and Luna, of course), so that what looks like slightly naive young idealism to us is, locally, straight pragmatism, because the world arranges itself so that love and friendship will work.
This makes Discord less like a Satan and more like an Angra Mainyu figure: a hole in the way the world should function, an anti-existence moment. Terrifying in its implications. |
