The over-explanation of why this is fake:
The European comics use a combination of clip art (the same seen on MLP packaging and in coloring books/stickers) and drawn art. The comics have simple stories and are usually more than two pages. The comic above uses non-standard and edited clip art, and no drawn art. For example: 1. Celestia is shown as being pink. Only in the toys is she pink. In all clip art, even on the toy's packaging, she's white. 2. Fluttershy is shown as a recolored Rainbow Dash. This is true for the blind bag figurine, but she has her own unique clip art. 3. Secondary characters like Dewdrop Dazzle would not be used in place of primary characters. It's odd in itself that all of the mane six aren't shown. 4. Some of the art's taken from screenshots of the show. Prince Blueblood, Spike's hat from Cheerilee, Twilight, and Spike's dragon costume. The clip art of Twilight in a dress (there's more than one) isn't the same as on the show, and Spike's obviously been edited out. Bottom line, someone took so much effort to make this comic look bad, perhaps in mockery or imitation of the European comics, that they made many obvious mistakes, assuming they meant to pass this off as genuine. |
