^^^ Not really, Ultramarines are just kinda boring. They've picked up a bit more flavor with the whole "Romans in Space" hints that they've got, but it's still nowhere near the "Viking werewolf supersoldiers" of the Space Wolves, the "Mongol Biker Marines" of the White Scars, or the "Teutonic Order in Space on steroids" of the Black Templars. |

@215: It's not so much the Ultramarines themselves as it is this motherfucker right here, who happens to be both their biggest fan and one of the primary codex writers, which means he gets to shove them down our throats and turn them into complete mary-sues while ignoring his less favorite chapters like the Salamanders, Raven Guard and White Scars.
@303: He's also responsible for the Vanilla marines codex, which is so filled to the brim with Ultramarines fluff and so little of everyone else it might as well be renamed "THE ULTRAMARINES R KEWL AND U SUK 4 NAWT LIKIN THEM!!1!!1!1!!!!1!one!11!111!" |
