Uhmm... These look like payers of soil rather than rock strata. Shovels do not go through rock strata easily.
If this was a valley with a river running through it, seasonal floods could deposit layers of sediment like those seen in only a few hours. There is no telling that construction has not relocated the soil to provide a firm base for road or buildings, either, or simply displaced from a dig site and left there. Analyzing a saturday morning cartoon for this stuff is silly. Wait ... Why am I doing this again? |
