I don't usually talk about myself on the internet, but, I'm a little sad and I just feel like writing shit.
For almost 7 years now I have been dealing with Type 1 Diabetes. It's been a difficult road, but the love and support of my family and friends has made the burden easier to carry. A year and a bit ago, I fell into a deep depression, some of it about Diabetes, some about events happening to me at the time. I went to a shrink, I forced myself to be more active, go for walks, blah blah blah. I was getting better, but I still wasn't happy. I found out about FiM and it's large, unlikely fanbase. Out of curiosity I started watching it and it made me smile, forget about my problems and simply enjoy something completely unrelated to everything. Now, I'm not going to say "Ponies saved my life" or anything like that, because they didn't. But they did give me something to smile about, which did get me on a better track of thinking and living. I now carry a Pinkie Pie keychain on my Blood Sugar meter, which is a little ironic, but I keep it there to remind me that even when shit goes sideways, there is always something to smile about. |

^ Same thing here. I don't have diabetes or anything, but I had very bad depressions a while ago.
Now I'm taking pills, but the thing that keeped my mind together whenever I felt like totally losing it was ponies. I can put an episode on and just watch and enjoy it, without any thoughts about anything that goes on in the world right now. The show is just beautifully light hearted. |

She had to have three hooves removed before they decided to pull the plug. Being Pinkie Pie, she had confetti launchers rigged to the heart monitor to fire at the flatline. Spike laughed. No one else did. It was rather awkward. |
