Well, there's always an animal or so that tends to run differently than the rest.
Survival is the key. If they do not survive, this unusual trait dies off. If they are able to meet with another penguin that has done the same and they survive long enough to reproduce, and they last for several generations, the trait is slowly introduced into their makeup. It's how animals evolve. |
