...Yeah I don't think it has anything to do with Discord
BUT Neat bit of History. Perhaps this implies there was a time before Discord or Celestia took rule. |

I'm kinda meh on this as a movie, as it wouldn't involve any of the characters we know and love from the series.
If they do some sort of time travel, or have this as a flashback sub-plot to an adventure featuring the mane 6, then yeah, I'll buy that. |

^We don't know for certain if it's a non-celestia/luna alicorn.
It could be either one of them, but just with a badly drawn representation of them to throw us off. Or it's either one of them, but they looked different way back when. Or maybe this show has less continuity and attention to detail than we think...ah well |

I thought it was a bit lame. The poison's side effect was too tame, I think. On top of the obsession and "getting nothing done", I'd have said the potion's effect becomes stronger over time to the point that the ponies forget to eat, sleep, or do anything else but stare at each other until they waste away. |

they DON'T Sleep. If they slept they would spend an hour not looking into each others eyes and the whole thing would end as soon as they fell asleep and the whole duty thing wouldn't factor in. It's a kids show, so they left the gruesome stuff out.
How about this, they couldn't sleep and so wasted away, the princess used her magic to keep him alive until she died, her eyes rot and his spell is broken. Oh woe is me! that's why there is no princess of the earth, only one for sun and moon. |
