It is as canon as they'll get on a children's show that can't even give the slightest hint of kissing on screen. It was deliberately written in an open ended manner for writing convenience because Hasbro wants little to no continuity between S2 episodes. If they're going to touch on romance they have to play off characters other than the mane 6. Remember there's a mandate that the episodes have to work in any order. That's why nopony seems to remember how many times the mane 6 have saved Equestria. It's also why Spike having a crush on Rarity can be canon, but Rarity's feelings toward Spike must remain ambiguous. A mane 6 romance just wouldn't fit the show's non-serial nature. Tl;dr CHEERIMAC IS AS CANON AS A SHOW FOR LITTLE GIRLS REVOLVING AROUND FRIENDSHIP WILL ALLOW. |

All that's canon is that they went on a picnic together. That's it. It seems to me that some people have become so emotionally invested in spiting fluttermac shippers that they've become more irrational and obsessive about "proving" the validity of their ship than the people who initially complained. |

You're missing the point. It's NOT clear what happened at the end. It was left ambiguous, so stop acting like you're the writers of show and disregarding everyone's theories. It's just as likely that the two DO end up together as it is they just stay close friends. What is obvious is that in both of those outcomes, it's likely that the two will at some point express some more interest in each other, and in either case, the shipping is more canon that any other ship that is abundant in fanon. And hey, anon403, does it make you feel like a big man to call people you've never met and don't know anything about retards and social rejects? That must be the highlight of your day. And WatermelonRat...nobody is being more obsessive about this ship (nor proving fluttermac as dead) than any other ship in this fandom. How about Lyra and Bonbon? Derpy and Doctor Whooves? Any of the mane six ships, or Celestia and Discord? People will justify how they see the ship. And the justification going on here is more than valid. If anything, it's how the show was meant to be taken. |

Yeah, with the pet name part, because they knew THAT disgusted them. That has nothing to do with the fact they might genuinely have fallen for each other over the course of the entire episode, and after the potion wore off. The wink is in the same boat as that. It could also have been as the nudge to the audience about them really liking eachother, too.
