Cheerimac is as canon as Rarispike is.
Which goes to say, it's obvious they are meant to have feelings for each other, but the show is open ended due to the nature of how it is presented. If they're going to touch on romance they have to play off characters other than the mane 6. Remember there's a mandate that the episodes have to work in any order. That's why nopony seems to remember how many times the mane 6 have saved Equestria. It's also why Spike having a crush on Rarity can be cannon, but Rarity's feelings toward Spike must remain ambiguous. A mane 6 romance just wouldn't fit the show's non-serial nature. |

Given how they stood up searching for their expected reaction from the CMC, and also communicating with a "wink" as confirmation (that they've realized that the CMC has learned their lesson). And furthermore, as the host of the compound(CMC was punished by doing his chores at Apple Acres) and a gentleman(gentlecolt), it is his obligation to a escorting Miss Cheerilee safely(as know that the Acres' are close to the Everfree Forest) and politely out of the compound. In conclusion their relationship between them was never mutual and was only furthered developed(so in the future Big Mac can talk to Miss Cheerilee more open than the limited: Eyup, and Nope.) |

I personally Added the "deleteme" tag on it, not due to the concentrated flame to me(I can handle the pressure), but due to the community being diversely slowly ripping apart. In addition, Cheerilee and Big Mac, though close friends, obviously were somewhat awkward around eachother, and that hints at a crush. (Face it, if this was Fluttershy in the exact same scenario, you would be jumping at the idea of OMG THEY ARE SECRETLY LUSTING FOR EACHOTHER Y U NO JUST SAY IT??!) If Cheerilee was able to say something about Mac in his teeth, than she is comfortable with talking to him about friend things. But when it came to romantic things, both of them began to feel embarassed. Cheerilee said "we should humor them" to clear things up and to ease the tension. It doesn't mean she didn't feel anything. You've obviously never had a guy/girl friend that was closer than a friend, or that your friends thought the two of you would make a good couple. Maybe you're forever alone and wouldn't know, but most lasting relationships started out as good friends. |
