If anything this episode showed that they were very close friends, and by the end of the episode, while it could be assumed they were 'trolling' the CMC, they still walked off together, and clearly were a lot more into eachother at the end. |

They didn't seem to remember the events of the potion when it wore off, but at the end they obviously were closer than before and called eachother the same pet names as they did when under the spell.
You could argue it's trolling, but there's no ground proof that it's not, either. They did go off to the gazebo together. |

The CMC initially wanted them to go out on a picnic together and that's what they did in the end.
At the very least, they became a lot closer since they could actually hold a conversation instead of the awkwardness between them earlier. |

^ There's no indication that they went on a date at the end. Did you not see the part where they deliberately winked at each other to signify that they were trolling the CMC? They left it open but there's not really any strong evidence that they are more than friends by the end.
I'm not saying this to justify any ship over CheerMac-- I am just pointing out the obvious that a lot of people seemed to miss due to their shipping goggles being on too tight. |
