@Draconequus: Everyone forgives Trixie because she's a pretty girl, and most bronies don't think beyond that. It's true that Gilda gets a lot of hate despite being a girl, but she looks too much like a lesbian and isn't pretty enough in the conventional sense for bronies to blindly forgive what a bitch she was, however she still has pleny of sympathizers.
Blueblood gets almost nothing but hate, though-- methinks that a gender-based double standard may be at play. Pretty girl with arrogant bitch personality = hugs all around. Butch girl with domineering bitch personality = mostly hate with some sympathy. Handsome guy with ignorant douche personality = nonstop hate. Blueblood's offenses were fairly petty in comparison to ruining Rarity's hair or making Fluttershy cry, but since he's a guy he gets grilled way harder for them. |

He's been sheltered and pampered his whole life, and probably doesn't get out of the palace very often. Blueblood was an attractive looking stallion. He lived in Canterlot and he was born in royalty. Most likely, he's also very rich. But on the inside, he's selfish and rude. I know he didn't really intend to be mean to Rarity, he was just being himself. Its nice to actually contrast him to Spike. Spike's not a pony. He's small and weak with his little baby dragon body. He owns nothing other than the basket he sleeps in. He is a creature of greed by birth yet manages to show Rarity the single most generous act she has ever experienced. He is kind, selfless and heroic by Rarity's own description. Just saying. Blueblood was used for contrast. |

I think Gilda is pretty, and might have a bit of a crush on her (damn you, John Joseco). She's just tough and cool, and I like that. Also, fanon has made its way into my mind... For once, I like that too. Yes, it was mean of her to make Fluttershy cry. I got over that within minutes. I never really saw the big thing about Trixie. She's not bad or anything, but I'm just not that big on her as many others. Still, I do like her character and personality, which is one of the more important parts of the show to me. Blueblood is just a douche, but I got a laugh out of his douchiness. He made for some funny moments in the episode, and he got what he deserved. I don't hate any of them, really. |

Blueblood is your just average canter lot pony, almost everyone there is exactly the same. And Rarity represents generosity; she could teach Blueblood the values of being generous. I love this idea! But I doubt they'll actually make this. |

The difference between Trixie and Blueblood is Trixie had depth. While she acted arrogant at the beginning, when all was lost and she was admitting her fraud she became quiet and meek, then returned to her normal personality upon her retreat. Not to mention she lost everything at the end.
The same is true of Gilda. She wasn't the typical bully character because of how clingy she was to Dash. As a result of being clingy the show implied that Dash was the only friend Gilda had ever had, adding an edge of sadness to her character. (the first time I had watched it, I felt sorry for Gilda. And this was before I became involved with the fanon.) Blueblood's just a rich guy who looks down on everyone who isn't rich. Meh. I'm sure if he had more too him I'd love him as a character. |

My favourite interpretation of Blueblood is that although he's selfish, spoiled, and self-centred, he's also disillusioned with the mares who basically see him as a prize to be won. Who basically show up with the expectation that that's enough for him to fall in love with them and start doing everything for them. |

Rarity does seem to have forgiven him though, since they appear to be friends in Sweet and Elite. |

The world's too hard on jackasses. Trixie and Blueblood committed no crimes nor did the permanently disadvantage anypony. Gilda stole, and that's terrible; but making Fluttershy cry wasn't entirely her fault. FS should have had thicker skin. She would never survive the NY subway. |
