I'm more annoyed that the shitstorms got as bad as it did than mad at the results.

@anon#988262

People hate the cheezeburger websites because they love to slap their url and logo on every image and gif that gets put onto their site.
They do not ask for permission and don't even try to find a source for things. I remember when I saw one of the few gifs I made with the senorgif.com logo on it. Felt bad, mate. Looked it up on the site and no source (ie. me) was there either.
I remember back in the day when this was internet rule number 1 and breaking it would result in lots of angry people (often to the point of users leaving and sometimes people spamming the site).

too bad these days its pretty standard. But nobody does it as badly or on as big a level as the cheezeburger sites.

Do you guys not remember ebaumsworld?

Step 1. Take something someone else created
Step 2. Slap a watermark on it with absolutely zero credit given
Step 3. Ad revenue

It's the same god damn thing and supporting it is terrible. Plus it's a dick thing to do to the artist- take their stuff, apply a macro, post it here if you want, but posting it there? Where they specifically brand it as theirs and use it for revenue? no.

Regarding the dislikes, maybe it isn't the shipping getting wrecked so much as the posting of a "leak" on Youtube.

^^

Ebaum thought he reached his peak, so he sold his site for a huge sum of money. The man practically retired rich at an early age.

I really hope karma smacks his ass around soon.

Yep. HandHeld Entertainment bought the site for $15 million dollars plus $2.5 million dollars in company stock backc in 2007. He even earned an additional $52.5 million in cash and stock for the next three years. (Assuming HandHeld Entertainment was still up for those three years.)
