@Takashi: There actually is a blue raspberry, rubus leucodermis, better known as the 'whitebark raspberry'. The fruits start out a bright red, but turn bluish-black as they ripen. I actually have a blue raspberry plant in my backyard... but the blue raspberry we know is just regular raspberry flavoring infused with a food coloring dye called 'Brilliant Blue FCF'. |
