What's that? Ok... ok, I'll ask him. Squinter, the noses are inquiring as to whether or not you are mad, bro. |

I FUCKIN' MAD, BRO. |
| HeinousActsZX #983369 5 months ago |
Yeah, I'd like help with that too. |

I personally like your noseless style.
But what I do is start around the middle of the eye furthest away from the "camera" and make an upwardly curved arrow that leads down to the chin and add the mouth afterward. If that's any help. |

^Same.
FRIKIN PONY SNOUTS. HOW DO THEY WORK!? well, not "work" work, but yeah I have trouble drawing 3/4ths views of ponies and such. Head on is okay, and side is okay-ish (though both of those views seem to scream "inexperienced artist") FRIKIN' NOSES. |

#983383 You'd think so, but you'd be wrong (at least in my experience. |

Make the mouth first, then do the snout. I just tried it now and I got it down pretty good in a few minutes.
I was using this page as a reference and looking at it rather than what I was drawing. There was an inconsistency between attempts in scaling, but I'm not exactly an artist. |

I can bet on DA by now there's a "HOW DRAW PONY" guide |
| Nebbie #983401 5 months ago |
^I'm pretty sure I've seen at least two on this site actually. There are probably a ton of them. |
| HighPlainsSquinter #983404 5 months ago |
#983401 There are a lot of drawing guides on this site, yes, but none focused on noses, which is what I need most. |

I'd love to help, but I have never been good on explaining that kind of stuff, sorry, but I gotta say that you have a really nice style right how it is now |
| Nebbie #983492 5 months ago |
You need three curves.
The first is the one connecting the nose to the mouth. This one is the trikkiest, try to get a sort of parabola that goes up enuff to get a third of the nose shape. The second is the flatter top portion, it's the easiest. The last is the one connecting it to the eye. This one is also really trikky. Try to make it curve very slightly up near the eye, and make sure the connection to the second curve is very round, yet not that big of an angle. That's really the best I can describe the way I'm trying it. The only issue I hav now is the mouth being not quite as curved as I want, messing up the look, but that can be adjusted separately. |

Here's my attempt:

Now I know I'm not the only one :D |
| Natry #983726 5 months ago |
I've doodled enough of the mane six to get thier noses okay now. The problem I have right now is drawing the male noses. I can never the hang of them and there's at least five different nose shapes for the colts. |

Nice to see that a perfectly valid link when you go to it is derping on here due to some silly redirection or something. |
