Some webcomics are funny, misnamed...
XKCD, Hark! a Vagrant, Dr McNinja, Dinosaur Comics, MSPA, Order of the Stick, and 2-3 others. For each of those there are 999 terrible ones. |

Something about boy hitting on astral imagination brunet. |

It's funny to reference Lovecraft.
In 2012. |

| JamesCorck #980154 5 months ago |
Wow, I don't get it. At all. And I do love Lovecraft with every fiber of my being. |

plus it has been done better elsewhere(like in Grim adventure of Billy and Mandy show). Prblem with webcomics is that a) they ar eoften late, this is talking about Brony/Pony phenomenon at its begin(first season), while we are well inside the second one, and b) they overestimated their humor and capacity to transmit it, as it is not easy not with the brilliant competition it was quoted before, is damn hard coming out with something genuinelly fun and original
-as MLP:FIM is, in its own way and for its own target audience.- Is not his fault is just webcomic nature. Right now just being a webcomic does not grant any more value than printed strips, that are dying media by the way, good only for comic curmudgeon site(even if have to read another elucubration of that mass of sadness that is Funkyvers/Cranckshaftverse, i'm gonna shot myself) |

I get it because I tried to watch MLP with my gf and introduce this show to her and she couldn't understand my excitement about it and was all like "It's just a girl's show why would men watch it anyway?"
You get it now? |

@SteveCharb: XKCD has descended into the writer feeding on his own ego, Dr. McNinja is love-it-or-hate-it, and Order of the Stick is Rich Burlew whining about D&D first and MAYBE a joke or two around the edges afterwards. Can't argue with the others. |

I can kinda understand where this is coming from.
At first glance, MLP:FiM looks like a show for young girls (which it is...sort of.) But then you get into the fandom where you can find all sorts of bloody and disturbing fanfictions, not to mention the occasional porn...someone could very well think that the series is some sort of eldritch abomination. |

Holy shit, this is everything wrong with webcomics in a single image.
* Jumping on a popular trend with a lazy cameo instead of a joke that's actually relevant. *Walls and walls of text, most of it completely unnecessary. *OH MAN A LOVECRAFT REFERENCE. SO ORIGINAL. *The guy is boring and bland, but luckily he's got a LOL SO CRAZY girlfriend to make his life interesting! No wish fulfillment here! *Everything is 3/4ths perspective. No attempts to experiment with different angles or poses, ever. |

^Don't forget the couch. There is even a Tvtropes page for it: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TwoGamersOnACouch
Add a TV, a couch, two people and you can keep using the same one panel with different text for eternity, it's glorious! Well. It could be worse. It could be a sprite comic. |

Am I the only one here that actually likes, and regularly follows, this webcomic? |
| Anonymous #980530 5 months ago |
Listen up Bronies: If something you like happens to be touched on in Something Positive it will not be nice. It's not that the creator actually hates your show, book, whatever, it's just the nature of the strip. Don't take it personally. |
| Anonymous #980533 5 months ago |
@RagnorakNow it would appear so. because everyone else is jumping to conclusions about the comic based off of this one strip |
| Anonymous #980658 5 months ago |
I'm more of a Penny Arcade kind of guy my self. |

No-one said anything about what it says about anything, Anon. :p We were taking jabs at its general quality. |

Zzzzzzzzzz....*snort* wha-what? sorry I fell asleep reading this comic. |
| Anonymouz #983427 5 months ago |
It looks like the comic is making fun of the actual show in a negative light instead of making fun of the fandom that follows the show.
I think that is inappropriate. |

Tl;dr: tl;dr |

you people all suck
something positive is a pretty funny comic overall (albeit in a 'slight smile' rather than 'laugh-out-loud' way*, and the entertainment comes out of the dialogue rather than straight-up jokes), and this fits in well with the characters and feel of the comic *With the exception of the very first strip |
