Derpy has asserted her hard earned right to be in the show. I clearly don't see how anyone could have hated such a adorable, innocent, and comical character who is one of the defining symbols of this generation that sets it aside from the others. Derpy is the first of her kind in MLP, a pony whos character was practically forged by the incredible fan-base. To take her away is the same as a shepherd forsaking his sheep that he painstakingly raised to a ripe age. In other words it will be an insult to the creators and the community.
I have ADD myself and I dont find "derp" or "derpy" to be offensive. In fact I find it hilarious and enjoyable to have these indispensable elements in the series. Whoever were responsible for accusing derpy of being offensive have no sense of humor, paranoid, ill informed, lacking the sense of tolerance, cowardly trolls, or just losers who think they are cool by harassing others because they have nothing else to do.I bet some of them are even supporters of SOPA. Thanks to the miss-informed actions such as this crap by so-called "Guardians" of those with mental disabilities. People like me might be perceived as trolls or a plague in society by some. Those "anti derpy" complainers are basically implying that we are stereotypically insane and that derpy would offend us all. Since when did others get to determine what's appropriate for me or the others? I am genuinely grateful to Hasbro, the writers, and the community for saving our beloved cross-eyed, blonde gray pegasi for everyone to adore. (I know i have terrible grammer. I'm not that great with essays.) Don't let others judge you of your interests. Sincerely, Fellow Brony Peace! |

I think that's the whole point.
Also she's way more tolerable than those guy ponies because they're obviously based on Mike Judge type stupid characters (Bobby, the redhead kid, Beavis&Butthead, etc.) which there's now a crapton of. As the saying goes, everything old is new again, and Derpy's particular brand of buffoonery has been missing for about a decade, barring maybe Spongebob and Osaka. While it's not an accurate direct comparison she reminds me of the Butters of Ponyville but more accident-prone. |
