Of course! The sun is hot like a stove, and we didn't know how to turn stoves on until we invented them, so it was colder back before we turned up the sun's gas.

Arguments for and against human's effect on global warming aside. Isn't it better to be safe than sorry.

If we assume humans are to blame and we're wrong, the worst that will happen is the economy will suffer.

If we assume that we are not to blame and we're wrong, we may head towards climate change of apocalyptic scales.

AND even if we weren't to blame, there is a finite source of oil that we are quickly running out of. With only a few decades worth left in the planet.

Once the oil's gone, we're pretty much fucked.

I apologise for the rant but using fake science to sell your bullshit always irks me. as it devalues real science.

Sorry OP but I tend to trust the scientific consensus more than the average witty reply on the internet.

Hell, the economy won't even suffer that badly Robo. We would see marginal increases in fuel prices(and with it a marginal increase in the prices of goods transported by oil based means) and on the prices of petroleum based products. And big corps would have to pay slightly more to keep up with the regulations. But they love to blow it out of proportion and make fear-mongering assumptions that any increase in regulation would be the death knell for major industries.

Most of the energy concerns could be off-set by the introduction and proliferation of alternative fuel sources.

Let us not forget the it was the consensus that the earth was the center of the universe and everything revolved around us like a stained glass orb.

Consensus means nothing, if anything it is laziness or a political paraphrase made up by politicians.

People thought that the Earth was the center of the universe and everything revolved around it because no one had any way to check whether this was correct or not. Once Galileo invented the telescope he was able to prove that the Earth revolved around the sun.

By contrast climate change isn't a random guess, it's based on scientific evidence that has been proven correct. This is why there is a consensus among scientists that climate change is real.

As far as I know, Equestria hasn't undergone mass industrialization(except probably Manehatten) and the ponies seem to be in harmony with nature, so I can't imagine pony-made climate change being an issue.
