Well, of course the Gamecube's a bad treasure NOW, considering its successor's successor is coming out later this year. Just imagine how Daring would react if it were 2002 or thereabouts! |

The gamcube had the Capcom 5.
Okay, it's obsolete considering the Wii is an updated Gamecube. If it has something still going for it, it's the Gameboy player. |

It wasn't a bad system. Being worst than the competition doesn't make the actual product bad. It just means the competition was better. Plus, the Gamecube (being a Nintendo platform) did have the old Nintendo uniqueness to its games.
Claiming its bad is just going to give us a flame war. |

I hope not. Every console is good in my book. But since I only bought a Gamecube, GBA, Wii, PS1 and PS3. I won't go around saying that: X console has the lamest games, or stuff like that :P |

With every good console, a bunch of lazy delelopers will shit out many unremarkable games for it (shovelware). And it's hard to find gems for the PS2 in a sea of crap (though the PS2 has enough good games to make it worthwhile), unless ebay. |

@Kanashi1kage If you're the worst in the competition, it makes you a "bad" choice regardless of capabilities or strengths, you are not the "good" choice. This is a battle of merit, the Gamecube loses that in spades. Does it have it's charm? Of course! But that won't change the fact that it's the worst system out of it's competitors.
And I only bought my Gamecube for Re4. That game alone made it worth the $100 |

OK, sorry. Sure, the PS2 had a larger library. About 15% of the games of any system are decent anyway, so the bigger the library the more good games it'll have; but the GC was freaking TITS! Still is, BTW. I still use it. Pretty often, in fact. It pretty much meant the resurrection of my GB and GBC collection and a new appreciation for my GBA cartridges. All thanks to this bad boy:

Just played a Gamecube game a couple of days ago. Still go back every few months to play something. Net purpose of owning (out of five): 4
Got a PS2 a couple years ago for about three or four games I actually cared about. Most of them are either currently or soon to be rereleased on other consoles I own. Net purpose of owning: 2 Never had the original Xbox. Absolutely nothing on it appealed to me that wasn't on a different console as well. Net purpose of owning for me: 0 What do I really mean out of all this? Simple. The Gamecube gave me more of what I PERSONALLY wanted than either the PS2 or the Xbox. This is a trend that was true for the preceding and succeeding console generations. I Own all three Playstations, every Nintendo console since the SNES, and the Xbox 360. Nintendo gives me the type of games I want most often. The others give me a few, but not nearly as many. Thus I like Nintendo the best. tl;dr I'm a Nintendo fanboy because they give me what I want. |

The GameCube is one of those consoles that stood out to me not because it had so much good games, but because the hardware was so incredibly awesome. It's the most graphically advanced console of its generation, technically speaking. It was made for gaming and was awesome at it.
There are practically no load times thanks to the smaller discs and fastest RAM on the market. Nintendo made the right choice with everything but one with the GameCube, not shifting their focus to online games in 2003/2004 was a big mistake. The modem units they made were fine but Nintendo put zero effort into supporting online play for third-party developers. Nobody should disrespect the GameCube, there is nothing worth disrespect. I own all four consoles of the previous generation and all four have their positive points, but the underdogs are where it's at. The GameCube and Dreamcast are superior consoles when we're talking pure gaming awesomeness. |
