I remember something called the ViS. It was like the DOS version of the Mac Pippin. It was terrible. I used to work at the Radio Shack store where they sold the ViS, they gave me the demo CD out of it before they LITERALLY damaged the unit out for credit.

I remember the CD-i. For more than just Zelda and Mario. For example, there was some adult stuff on there, and those games had a four-digit security code. The default was printed in the enclosed instruction manual (0000), and it could be changed from the program itself. Just delete the save file and enter 0000. I had a great youth :)

I have a weird double standard with these consoles. I can say that every console has it's faults, but I think the CDI deserves it bad rep.
