It does fascinate me how committed they are to quasi-greeking all visible text in the show so that kids don't feel expected to read anything... even when they're making an entire episode promoting literacy.

I think it's more a case of trying to make the text less English so it's easier to leave as-is during foreign dubs. We saw the same nonsense words during "The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well."

I guess you could call it "Equestrian writing" (the big honking English "Dear Princess Celest" sign during Swarm of the Century notwithstanding.)
