Half of it's cloud, which is presumably quite cheap to reshape. But I'm glad we finally go a look. Now we just have to tick off every one of the mane cast waking up on a bad hair day and we're done. I was expecting more posters. Spitfire in particular. |

Okay, so she have furniture on her cloud house that supports physical non-cloudy stuff. So, couldn't they, build wooden (or the same material as that piece of furniture) walkways in Cloudsdale and let everypony walk on it without the use of magic? You know, for accessibility? |

@142 The real answer is, don't overthink it, and if you really need something, it could be (a) it doesn't work on living non-pegasi, even if they stand on other stuff, or (b) it's cheap to adapt small things but rapidly gets more expensive when you're talking roads and such, or finally, (c) pegasi like having a city to themselves, and don't feel a need to be all that accommodating. |

(c) is too damn grimdark for a happy pony world. Our world have access ramps everywhere, I think a idealized pony world should have free access. I don't get (a), Twilight can stand on books, books can stand on that furniture, ergo, IMHO it should work. (b) I'm okay with, but it's one of the few things I think Celestia Government should spend money on, you know, instead of burning a party for her highness amusement. |

Now (b) is grimdark. (c) was grimdark because it was being racist, they don't like other people there? Earth ponies founded Ponyville but have nothing against Pegasi and Unicorns living there. Also, racism leads to Wendigos (it's canon), so the lack of Wendigos should mean nopony is racist. Also, (a) makes sense too, but I think with planks and balloons you could work out something. It would evebn be beautiful and marketable* to have Cloudsdale walkways with balloons every few meters as if they were lampposts! *If any Hasbro lawyer asks, feel free to use it. |

A fic I read suggested that furniture that isn't made of cloud can be placed in a cloud home by way of enchantment, but the cost of enchanting furniture shoots up higher in price the larger the item is. As a result, most Pegasi either keep "Earthen" items to a minimum, or do away with furniture not made out of clouds entirely.
So basically, theoretically it would be possible to build roads and walkways in cloud cities for non-Pegasi to travel on, but it would involve costly enchantments and other technical hurdles (such as clouds always being in motion, even if they are drifting a few inches back and forth, which could stress the structure of the walkways and cause them to fail). what I'm saying is, while the magitech exists, it is simply not practical. And since cloud-walking spells exist, and I guarantee that there are taxis to and from the cloud cities for ponies who can't fly, it is much easier for a non-pegasi to utilise a spell for themselves |

Rainbow Dash may not be a wealthy pony but she's got a good solid government job (with the Weather Bureau) so it was easy for her to get a mortgage with the Equestria Federal Credit Union. |
