Dawkins is simply awesome. But I fail to see his argument when you're able to go up to the palace and ask to speak to your god.

I've heard nothing but praise for The God Delusion.

Which makes me all the more skeptical.

@087 Dawkins is a belligerent wanker.

Don't get me wrong, his facts are 100% right, what he says is true, every word - but the way he says it is bad. He stains the reputation of every atheist (including me) and is probably a net negative for atheism as a socio-political movement.

Multiple Universes and Dimensions exist and by the nature of the concept, the number of Multiple Universes would be infinite. Therefore, based on probability, there has to be a Universe where a planet with the Real-Life equivalent of Equestria exists . . . She's out there somewhere and someday, somehow, I will join Her for a Bath.

Well, let's hope we can travel through the multiverse one day.
But I also wonder, if there's an infinite number of multiverses, shouldn't there be an infinite number of multiverses with an actual god ?
Well whatever.

547: How do you define a God? The all encompassing form of Intelligent force cannot be directly approached but there are moments when we approach a semblance of True communion with this Force. Major Religions only serve to separate us from it; It is one of those things of which endless libraries have been written of but can only be felt in the moment of the Experience itself. However, it's a basic concept and foundation of Esoteric thought that Creative Intelligence permeates all things: That's only half of it though, we have the concept of The Unified Field from theoretical Physics; indicating what systems of thought from Buddhism and Shamanic Spirituality have been stating all along, that the Creative Force is all things. Allow me to clarify that I do not support constructs such as Creationism. Evolution exists but I Feel intuitively that it originated from and is still in some way guided by a form of Intelligence.
Below that, there are Entities that can be classed as Minor Gods and Deities, such as Nature Spirits, Constructs such as the Religious Concept of God, Multidimensional beings . . . Celestia would fit somewhere in the category of a kind of highly advanced being in a state of deep communion with the Natural Rhythm of the Solar Cycle. If she guides the Sun however, It seems logical to assume that She and Luna either created the Sun and Moon for Equestria themselves or somehow bought it to that system from elsewhere.

The God Delusion is simply fantastic.

Now, I have to point out what has been pointed out to death: The ponies have no religion. They don't worship beings they believe in because of faith. They obey mighty entities they can actually prove exist.

And of course, here's a kid is dancing in front of a dolphin banana, so discussion's over and enjoy the derail.

In my country the church has a firm grasp on the educational system and ministry of education and religion (yeap it's one and the same ministry). You can't find the book in a public library and it's rather expensive to buy it.

>Multiple Universes and Dimensions exist

I am a fan of the anthropic principle but seriously [citation needed]. Multiple universe theory is nowhere near a consensus at the moment.

@Takashi_0 - wow, you're an idiot. Dawkins is not a "religion hater" as simpletons like you want to believe, he has lots of substantial arguments for his views. Sadly, despite how well this book was written, it's not going to convince many people to atheism - mainly because religious people simply refuse to read it.
