Some writer did his homework, like with the Greek stuff. Any more references we should know about? |

Wow, talk about exotic mythical monsters. I've never heard of it before, I thought it was something they made up. |

At least something good came out of Hasbro's acquisition of Wizards of the Coast. |

that tail must come in handy |

Okay...creepiest part? They eat EYEBALLS and FINGERNAILS.
Oh, and they mimic children's voices...so the Pinkie thing was eerily accurate... |

Actual Aztec mythical beast. It's name means water dog, and it is depicted as a man eating beast that grabs people with it's hand-like tail, and drags them underwater to drown. One of the Aztec kings was named after the creature. |

5096 - also teeth. And people (ponies?) in general, though those are the bits they prefer.
So that's a two-count for horrifying monsters from the Americas. |

My first thought when I saw him:
"What the fuck is that thing?" Love him. Know he's a fictional character, hope he shows up again. |

inb4 a comic/fanfic where some pony's magic brings the characters to life out of the book. |
| ROTHY #965621 5 months ago |
inb4 someone writes a series of fanfics for the entire Daring Do books. |

"When I first saw him I didn't even now where his eyes are :D"
Same. I thought they were nostrils. Then he starts talking in Pinkie Pie's voice and it's like OH GOD WHAT. |

Even though I'm all for mythological creatures, and studying them.
A very loud part of my inner self is screaming KILL IT, KILL IT WITH FIRE! Normally it's a good deal quieter, but I think Ahuizotl has creeped me out to such a degree I want it dead. |
| Robomorons #971659 5 months ago |
By far the easiest MLP character to make grimdark.
I wonder if Dashie will like the chapter where Ahuizotl beats Daring Do within an inch of her life and leaves her to die~ |

Actually this thread is richer in info than that article. |

Why are his eyes in the end front of his face? Does it have to do anything with meso-American art? |
| Xuncu #973746 5 months ago |
^No, not in origional art; prolly Studio B's artistic liberty to tap into uncanny valley.... or one fo the artists saw that shoop of the horse with eyes in it's nostrils. |
