The cousin of a child with nystagmus writes to Hasbro about how much the character meant to his cousin and how the child felt more comfortable about his eye condition because of her.

While I'm totally behind this email, I don't think petitions are really going to do anything.

Also, don't know why you're posting it here if you already have it on reddit

This. More of this, please, and less flaming and insults. If Derpy is in trouble, this is how we can save her.

I am fine with support and.petition. I would rather not hear that only complainers are bothering to speak about it. Who cares if not all petitions are heard?

Okey... I admit forcing your child to write to Hasbro, exploiting your nephews impairment just to protect the status of a fictional character in a show that is not target adults might be a bit too much, but I must note that Derpy made me view a girl with stravism in my area with different eyes pun semi-intended. I used to be awkward around her and tried to avoid eye contact, tried not to (nervously) laugh and acted obviously anxiously in fear of my own reaction. Now I'm not only more familiarised with that impairment but I have also developed some sort of affection towards it and act completely natural around her (except maybe for the spontaneous smile due to the positive emotions it stirs).

I don't know, call it reverse discrimination if you want, call it autism (since it is a change of behaviour made by a cartoon) but somehow I feel that cannot be bad or at least not worse than my previous attitude.

Someone forward this to yamino so that we can finally empty her vagina of all that sand.
They wanted proof, they got proof.

^Please don't. She'll probably hit the road looking for some offended retarded kid to write a letter to Hasbro.
