I happen to like FlutterMac because it strikes me as a sweet, down-to-earth pairing. They're two characters that would probably get along very well and have a healthy relationship.
That's something you don't see a lot of these days. Everything on the Interplots is drama and wangst and hate sex. But the simple fact is that there will be no "canon ships" in FiM. This cartoon is aimed at little girls and little girls still think boys are icky. So arguing about ships--either for or against--is ultimately futile. There's ugliness to be found anywhere if you look hard enough. So maybe there is a particularly "vocal" segment of FlutterMac shippers. And as soon as you point and laugh and call them fags, you lose the moral high ground. What happened to "I'm going to love and tolerate the shit out of you"? |

And Aquilinus, the ratio of people insulting the Fluttermac shippers to the Fluttermac shippers insulting the show/Cheerimac/or Cheerilee in general is 1:10. Hardly anyone is calling them fags. I knew FlutterMac had a million to one chance of being paired up canonically when I first shipped it. You're just grouping a large amount of people over a tiny little vocal fandom.
