As someone who is very clumsy but always tries to help, I can't say how happy the canon portrayal of Derpy made me. A lot of bronies like to ask "which pony are you most like?" and I finally had an answer.
And now they're trying to take her away. It's a little depressing. It's almost like Hasbro is taking Rainbow Dash's role, and is yelling at Derpy to "JUST SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING!" Also, I fifth the motion for featured image. |

Ditzy Doo isn't really any pony in particular.
Some people consider Derpy Hooves to be Ditzy Doo. Some people consider her to be an entirely different pony (including some who have assigned the name to the aforementioned Derpy recolor). But there's nothing official, just head-canon. |

If you're referring to what I think you're referring to (Lauren's dA post), Lauren said that they might make Ditzy Doo her canon name if they decided to give her one. I haven't seen anything definitively stating that her name was Ditzy Doo. |

My guess is that it's some *perjorative* pulling a DMCA against Hasbro through iTunes, claiming he's the guy who came up with "Derpy Hooves" on /co/ and he wants his phat lewt from the trademark/copyright muddle. |

Ditzy was never intended to be her name. It was a random name given to an unseen pony.
Lauren has endorsed the name "Derpy" numerous times, including on the Derpy fanart she drew for charity, and on the FAQ that's on her page right now. |

Copyrighting a name can actually happen for people in a very complicated way which i don't honestly understand. It can be done for fictional characters but the problem for that supposed person to be claiming he or she invented derpy's character obviously trolling because she was at the time an already created copyrighted before the show aired *It is very unclear whether or not at first if they intended a name for her or just kept her an un named background character* We all know thestory of the animation error and then they scrap what ever name or plans they had for her and decided on using the fan name derpy. But still using fan stuff can cause some troubles if the person had a good case. Same reason why they can't read fanfictions, there have been lawsuits for authors and fanfics in the past of other series which is sad. |
