Short answer: Foxes. Long answer: The art style and the overall theme of it; while FIM is, true, ponies who talk and have some human abilities such as talking, dressing up, etc., your comic in question seems much more anthromorphic and the rainbow 'scene' fox isn't helping the case in this situation. I haven't read the comic but that's what I'm guessing. |

The main reason bronies are hated is because they are associated with furries and I can understand and tolerate that.

There are some obvious facial traits that one may identify in furry art, regardless of the anthropomorphosis level. It is a highly uniform mix of disney's anthros and manga. 
For a quick comparisson, though I admit my furry example wasn't the most typical. I'll try to find something more representative. |

Only furries use this argument. With the possible exception of the fanservice Lola Bunny of Space Jam the Looney Tunes were never intented to be used as part of the furry "lifestyle"/movement by their creators. That would be like saying that Elmer Fudd was used to parodize 4chan, encyclopediadramatica or fursecution. |

I've met the creators of this comic at a con once, they're a somewhat elderly couple, husband and wife, wonderfully nice people... It's a comic revolving around an animal farm that hires out animals for movies and film shoots. Horses, rabbits, chickens and various other animals. Their most popular animal is a male fox by the name of Randy, as he is very docile and easy to handle for a normally undomesticated animal.
A female fox, Cindy, is a wild fox who is interested in Randy, and comes to live around the farm. The fox shown in this strip is Cindy's sister, Dusk, who is a bitch and wants Randy for herself. Randy is completely naive about how wild animals live. The idea of hunting and killing is foreign. His idea of love and romance is very human like (Marriage/poetry). Cindy is trying to come to grips with living around so many prey animals, and dealing with said naivety of Randy's. Her idea of love and romance is decidedly less human like. Dusk is attempting to screw it all up. THIS IS AMAZINGLY, INCREDIBLY AND HORRIBLY OFFENSIVE TO ME!!! I am beyond livid that this insult to everything decent is allowed to exist upon this plane. |
