No, it's just kind of a go-to thing. Much like how any in-between with a pony's eyes half-closed will invariably be tagged "bedroom eyes". |

I think i read most HiE fanfics on EQD and the only one with a human that went pony was Through the eyes.
And even this poor sod turned back into a human as of late. Then again i don't hunt for HiE fanfics like some people... |

Some of the best crossovers involving humans leave the humans human. Frankly turning your humans into ponies feels like a cop-out for those who just want to see personalities interacting rather than the full characters. |

The SG-1 crossover had them stay human. It's just that staying human causes general problems with architecture and technology catering to ponies, so staying human and being in Equestria permanently raises lots of questions.
Also, if they can't get more clothing, they would either be naked humans or wear the same thing over and over for a while, which raises even more significant issues than most utility design problems. SG-1 only stayed there for a short while in that fic, and very rarely went indoors. |

The Dresden Fillies let Harry Dresden stay human, though he did have an illusion-enchanted cloak to make him appear as a pony for a bit. |

This is pretty good. I'm planning on writing a crossover fic, and there's a "science vs. magic" theme in regards to Human-Equestrian interaction.
As for supplies, there's cross-global portal network so both races can come and go as they please (not without going through security first though...). |
