And it's common practice to humiliate hecklers, and that's just what she did with Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash. I mean, they asked for it. If someone is performing on the street and you go up to them and say "HA I CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT" then yeah you're going to embarrass yourself. Her stage persona is a huge annoying cunt, but she seemed halfway decent when she tried to stop the Ursa anyway, even knowing that she was indeed full of shit and had no idea how to handle it. If she were a really awful pony she would have run and let the thing kill probably dozens of ponies. |

I don't buy this whole "it's all an act" thing so many people seem convinced of. Having a jerkass stage persona like that may make sense for humans, but as the episode showed you're not going to find much of an audience for it among ponies. In fact I doubt the concept of a stage magician even exists in Equestria. No one seemed to see her as an entertainer, just some random showoff who thinks she's better than other ponies (or in Snips and Snails case literally the greatest and most powerful unicorn in Equestria). There was no indication that they had paid to see her either, she probably just does it to boost her own ego and make herself look better than other ponies.
Also, why do people assume that just because her cart was smashed that means she lost everything? |

The ponies watching the show got a huge kick out of her humiliating Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash. If you're being heckled, the only thing that stops it is making them shut up, because they're not going to shut up on their own. |

I think the entire concept of a "magic show" is going to have different connotations in Equestria where magic actually exists and is an ability all unicorns possess, why else would the mane six immediately see her not as an entertainer but as a showoff who thinks she's better than other ponies just because of her magical talent? |

Trixie seems more like a travelling storyteller than a magician. The profession was pretty widespread a long time ago, and Equestria seems on the cusp of industrial revolution. So it isn't far-fetched. |
