Diamond Tiara was born just before Nightmare Night. At a month old, her dad bought his princess a beautiful tiara to wear as part of a princess costume. During the festivities some less-than-reputable ponies noticed her tiara and decided to steal it.
In the panic of their assault one of the ponies grabbed her, dropping the tiara in the process. It was too late- he had to run, and he figured he could get a ransom anyway- her parents were obviously rich. It took two days to find her. Her father couldn't put the tiara down. He just stared at it the entire time she was gone. When she was returned to her father he put it back on her head and held her as tight as he could, and she stopped crying. When bedtime came her mother took the tiara off, but diamond tiara started crying and wouldn't stop for hours, until her parents realized she was crying because they had taken the tiara. So they put it back, and she calmed down. They decided that her name should be Diamond Tiara, to represent that she was their princess, and priceless to them. She associated the tiara with her father, and if it was missing, she felt completely vulnerable. then applebloom broke it and she killed herself |
