This reminds me of what happened with The Cure's "Killing An Arab." They had to start changing the lyrics to things like "killing another" when they performed it on tours because people got pissed off about the song's content.

But the entire song was actually a reference to a part in the book The Stranger, in which a white European is attacked by an Arab man with a knife, and the European shoots him to death. The irony is that the book was basically about racial tension, because when the white guy is brought to trial everyone thinks his crime was racially motivated. But the truth is that the dude was dealing with some emotional problems, race had nothing to do with it.

Am I the only one to find this pretty funny? In the first post, she says that they must always think several steps ahead of themselves so as not to offend anyone; and the second post is about the complaints about Derpy. Maybe if you guys wouldn't bitch over the slightest thing, they would have more free reign to do more stuff.

@946666 If you REALLY want to be technical, we don't actually know how Celestia came to power. Maybe she and Luna were originally just regular ponies/unicorns/pegasi and they went on an epic quest to get/create the Elements of Harmony. Perhaps, once they obtained the Elements and used them, being only two with power that could effectively be split among six, they were forever empowered beyond what could be hoped for by mortal mares.

You know, like a superhero origin story.

Go back in time. Look at how people treated each other back then. It wasn't much better. People as a whole don't change us much as you'd think. There were crooked knight and there are crooked cops. There were horrible kings and there are horrible presidents/prime ministers. There were massacres and other atrocities both then and now. The same could be said for acts of kindness. Our knowledge changes how we do things, sure. But we're not much more nice or cruel for it. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I love Sibsy really do but she seems to take criticism a bit more harshly than the average creator.

I know people only mean well when they go to her page and assure her that she shouldn't listen to what X person says, but I think they make problems seem more significant than they are when it is often them who notify her of X person existing in the first place.

Though, I honestly think she is to blame too. Positive feedback is important, but honest critique has its place. Someone who can't take it is asking for blind fans who filter out and toll away thinking people for her intentionally or not. That's not how it's supposed to be.
