It's an european thing, Asterix and Obelix, comic from europe (france if i recall correctly), it was quite popular.
In the comic there was this druid called Miraculix who could create a magic potion that gives you super strength and speed. Obelix (the fat one) dropped into the cauldron as a child, because of that he always have super strength but Miraculix refuses to give him any potion. It's a running gang that Obelix tries to get some of the potion so he knows how it tastes. |

Erm, that was sort of a joke. I read the details last time this was posted.
Now I feel bad about making you type all that. |

I grew up reading these. The books are fairly easy to get in English-speaking markets; at least some of them. I dunno about the US. |

Oh god, it's beautiful! I loved the Asterix comics. I think my favourite is "Asterix in Switzerland". Truly recommend all of the books. |

>not calling the druid Getafix
I'm American and while I never watched the cartoons, I did grow up reading all the Asterix and Tintin books. And it irked me that they changed the names in Asterix from the English versions like Vitalstatistix and Getafix to the "American" versions Macroeconomix and Magigimmix. And I agree that this is one of the greatest crossovers ever. |
