I don't see what's so terribly wrong with black twilight. The kneejerk reaction to the negativity is racism. But if someone could bring to light a different reason maybe this argument could be cleared up a bit. |

Pony coats don't map to skin color, but to clothing. And the question is not "Why shouldn't Twilight be black?" it's "Why is Twilight black and/or darker skinned and not the others?"
I don't necessarily have a problem with a work of art that portrays Twilight as black or darker skinned. Ponies don't have ethnicity so artists should feel free to do what they want. I have a problem with Twilight being "the black one". That's lazy and an excuse to portray the rest of the characters as white. |
