They came back one week later with guns. |

Nicely done, boys. |

Moral: AJ should have accepted the deal. It's okay to accept help and all that bullshit from Applebuck season. |

Wow, that single objection would have messed up everything. Yikes... |

And when Pinkie Pie realized what had happened, the Flim Flam brothers were never seen again. |

Didn't she said that accepting the deal will make the Apple Family go bankrupt? |

From my math, no it wouldn't. I made a big thread explaining this on ponychan a while ago. Considering 4 bits, lady, for Bonbon's full bag of apples, 2 bits for mug and about one to two apples per mug as we can see from Big Mac grinding the apples into cider, plus the 3 barrels for each barrel they made, also the fact that Big Mac got tired within the hour while the brothers could keep going. It would have been profitable for the Apples. |

IIRC, the deal was
--They supply apples to the Flimflam brothers who would sell them under the Flimflam name. --Profits are split 75/25 in the Flimflam's favor. Though it was shown that all the Apples need is more hands (err...hooves) working and they'll make quality cider faster than the 6000. Only way the machine can keep up with the pace is sacrificing quality and the town doesn't like crappy cider. |

You mean Celestia and Luna showed up and gave Flim and Flam a Canterlot style beat down. |
| Clopitor_the_Hydrogenous #943574 5 months ago |
Kanash, while that is true in the short run we could clearly see that it was not a sustainable rate of operation. |

^ You mean the rest of the Apple clan showed up and gave Flim and Flam a country beat down. |

@063 That's assuming the 4 bits per bag were not just Applebloom being a bad salesmare. |
| Nebbie #945303 5 months ago |
Don't try to make sense of how their business is completely reliant on this one sale, despite them having THE ONLY SOURCE for a special magical apple product so good it made a stallion rich.
The point is that the writers don't understand basic economics and would prefer to keep the "apple family is actually pretty poor and needs every bit just to keep from bankruptcy" as a plot device long after it became obvious that the apple family should be wealthier than most of the ponies Rarity got involved with in Canterlot. |

@Clopitor_the_Hydrogenous: If they hadn't also been forced to speed up after Flim and Flam started sacrificing quality they probably could have kept up that pace for much longer.
@Nebbie: I'd say it's less that they don't understand and more that they don't care, they're going to do whatever they think works best for the story at hand. They've already made it clear that continuity isn't their biggest concern. |

@Kanashi1kage
Which makes you wonder why they didn't just hire some farmhands (err... farmhooves) to help out. But I guess that would be over-analyzing things, right? :p |
