It's called the "Captain N Cartoon" Effect - A Hero will forget theri innate powers for the sake of all the heroes getting caught in the same trap: for example, Kid Icarus would fall into pit traps (ha ha) along with all the others, so the animators wouldn't have to think of writing a script with the party split up and exploring independantly. |
