If anybody actually bothered to visit my DA page they'd see that this image was inspired by how juvenile eagles in real life will torment their younger siblings to death if their parents can't provide enough food or space for them while they are still nest bound, and has absolutely nothing to do with Derpy.
My beef with Canon Derpy isn't that the show was making fun of a mentally handicapped character, it was that the show is resorting to it for a cheap laugh instead of trying to stay clever and original. Damn near every show that introduces an imbecile character for the sake of an occasional cheap laugh eventually begins to focus on that character way too much and the show turns into a parade of idiot jokes centered on that character and loses all quality content. See The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. I was most upset that the creators were pandering to the non-target fan base (anyone not a girl ages 4-7), and this seems to be, along with several other things, and indication that the show is already starting to slip in quality. |

Derpy was played as a clumsy character for laffs (as in, just like her appearance in Feeling Pinkie Keen, but this time she was voiced), not an imbecile. Please stop putting words in the show creators' mouths and then getting pissed at those words.
Please also stop pulling the "all shows that do x end up like y" routine. MLP is not made by the same people as Family Guy, so what makes you think it will take the same path? As for pandering to the target audience: you do realize that that's an entirely logical thing to do 99% of the time, and that that segment appeals to bronies as well right? I mean sure, you could do a show designed to never cater to your target audience and maybe succeed, but that's a terribly stupid idea that will only end in your show not having the things that drew in the audience in the first place. OH NO THEY JUMPED THE SHARK! I just lol when someone complains about the show being worse when polls indicate the more recent episodes are actually more well-liked. Then I get slightly upset, but still find reason to lol when people make massive predictions of the future based on an extremely recent trend they see. tl;dr: You are making massive assumptions, then raging about them, and being a pessimistic idiot all the while. |

Show jumped the shark with Derpy Hooves? I highly disagree It was 2 minutes out of 22. Was it an obvious shout out? Of course. But I don't think that is a sign of things to come.
@ Scootsmod yes they could have done that but the Flim Flam brothers weren't written in a way to provide such a solution. They had every intention of taking most if not all the Apple Family's business. A 2 minute scene of a Gray Pegasus Mare does not constitute jumping the shark. If they were to pander towards the older audience all the wouldn't be doing their job. It's not curtains for the show yet. Have some faith. |

you people are crazy. Scootaloo is molting and dash is helping her out. Of course scoots is gonna cry, its like tearing off a band aid or getting a flu shot; it will hurt, but the benefit is great. Also, this guy is my favorite artist and a true visionary. |
