I honestly have no idea how you could hate these guys. Just a couple of dudes trying to make some money. Not their fault the apples won't hire a few extra hands. |

I like to think the idea catches on and John Pony Baird decides to invent the television. |

@931
"Just a couple of dudes trying to make some money." So the fact that they tried to sell Apple Cider made from Sweet Apple Acre apples without even asking didn't seem skeezy? Or that they never even offered to work for the Apples? Or that they decided a 75-25 split in their own favour when they literally only put in 5 seconds of work was a fair deal? Enough defending these guys. They were sleeze-bags. They didn't invent that machine. If they did, they wouldn't use it. They'd patent it. They'd have shown up and tried to sell IT to the Apples. Let me just put it this way: Snake oil. If you don't understand my meaning, then you don't know enough about business ethics to have an informed opinion. Look it up, do some research, and maybe your defense of them will be more tangible. |

@931 I hate them because they were smug assholes. |
| Anonymous #936122 5 months ago |
Yeah, they're assholes. But so was Trixie, and everyone loves her. Besides, they have a great song! |
| Anonymous #936334 5 months ago |
If they were more about going into business, they would have given the apples a bigger cut. I mean, they don't really need 75% JUST for the use and powering of the machine. That's like owning and being the only one who knows how to use a photocopier and demanding the majority of the profits at an office building. |
| Vree #936388 5 months ago |
Yeah, they are dicks but they do know their machinery. On that note, a lot of real world inventors were actually douches or focused on the profits.
I'd like to see them become recurring characters if there's ever a comic series/expanded universe/fanwork where they keep showing up in Ponyville selling all sorts of fishy inventions. Though maybe that'd make ponies seem too anti-tech. I mean, if the apples weren't so afraid of technology they would have realized that their machine had worked, they only failed because they were abusing it. |
| Anonymous #936433 5 months ago |
Apples didn't really go against it cause they were afraid of technology- Granny Smith had her doubts, but she was willing to listen once she found out about the quality- they were against it cause agreeing would have resulted in too few profits for them to live on. |

Smug d-bags or not, I loved their machine. So wonderfully steampunk <3 |

If Trixie gets a reappearance, then by Celestia, I hope these two get a reappearance.
There was some sort of rumor going around before the second season started that it would feature "recurring antagonists." While it would be foolhardy to jump to conclusions, the idea of these two popping up again and again as greedy overconfident inventors is too good to pass up. |
